Good Buy?
By Sergeant MikeVerified Purchaser from Cincinnati Ohio on 11/5/2008
Pros:
Durable
Best Uses:
Halloween
Describe Yourself:
High-end Shopper
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Spazm:

This guy is not real detailed and he should not be viewed up close (this created a problem making him shake) I added some latex, paint, glaze and explandable foam to make him look better. I took a vibrating unit from a massager and replaced the poorly made unit he came with. I switched him on and was very happy with the effect. I felt I had to work on him to much for the price I paid, but you decide for yourself.

We put him in his own padded room with a strobe light and it drew in the victims with curiosity-then we had a real person in a straight jacket jump out from the closet and scare them all!

nice prop
By StankieVerified Reviewer from Eastern Shore, VA on 11/1/2008
Pros:
Fun To Use, Scary, Unique
Best Uses:
Halloween, Parties
Describe Yourself:
Midrange Shopper
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Spazm:

This isn't a big prop; we put it in a chair on our deck. It's latex and has a sensor that works better during the day. It vibrates and breathes heavy.. not too annoying like some. The eyes are realistic but that spit on it is pretty lame; it looks like some dried up glue. The neck seems to be a bit flimsy..meaning don't tote it around by the head! Overall, it's a decent prop.

I was excited to see him arrive, as I thought he was pretty cool. But I have to agree, he is very hard to set off. I basically had to hit him, and then his vibrations aren't very strong. Even still, without that, he's pretty creepy looking and will add a nice touch to my decorations.

Poorly Made
Best Uses:
Halloween
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Spazm:

This doesn't look much like the photo. It's very very cheaply made. Huge ugly seams in the latex, poorly done paint, bent in a weird position. Just a very poor quality prop. And the sounds and shaking aren't even close to being realistic. [$] Just Terrible!

Comments about Spazm:

We had been planning on buying Spazm for a while, largely based upon the reviews here. But there is something wrong with the motion on the one we were sent. He barely shakes at all. We have seen him in a store since then, and our's is definitely not shaking the way he should.

Comments about Spazm:

We have SPAZM sitting on a table in a low traffic area but will put him in a higher traffic area for our big halloween party. His motion sensor doesn't always work, so he unpredictable on when he goes off. He does get a reaction from unsuspecting guests. Nice addition to a dimly lit corner area.

Comments about Spazm:

I wouldn't pay full price for this, but I bought it on sale for [$]. I think that's a reasonable price. Spaz is pretty creepy looking. He's looks great sitting in a corner, and scares guests when they approach him. He doesn't move much - just a vibrating mechanism stuffed into his foam body.

Pros:
Detailed, Fun To Use
Cons:
Motion quality poor, Simple
Best Uses:
Halloween
Describe Yourself:
Midrange Shopper
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Spazm:

This is a nice addition to the Haunted house I do every year, however, its just not worth [$](including shipping). I expected it to be a lot bigger and more frightening. Not to say I don't like it - it's pretty cool! I just expected a tiny bit more.

Not really "animated"
By Zombie Gurl TJVerified Reviewer from Wenatchee, WA on 9/22/2008
Pros:
Durable
Cons:
Not Scary
Best Uses:
Halloween
Describe Yourself:
Midrange Shopper
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Spazm:

The sound is rather quiet. He'd be fine in a quiet house, but not loud enough for outdoors and completely lost in a Haunted House room. His "shaking" is so faint that I have to put my hand on him to see if he's working. They've buried the shaker so deep in foam that it's pretty much useless. He looks good. Might have to touch him up with some hand-painting, as the airbrush job he received at the factory is rather bland. Would be nice to have a constanct "on" choice, as his activator is not very sensitive.

Good, not great.
By Kyle from Ohio on 7/23/2008
Pros:
Creepy, Scary
Cons:
Difficult To Use
Best Uses:
Halloween, Standing Out
Describe Yourself:
High-End Shopper
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Spazm:

Very creepy and scary. However, it doesn't appear to be motion activated, I have to hit him in the head or upper back to get him to do his shaking thing. Might just be a little broken, I got him for half off after Halloween was over. Added bonus: during the off season put some shades and a hat on him and he goes from scary to comedic.

Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Spazm:

Spazm is a cut above most props in its uniqueness and ability to cause a reaction in people. I like to put him on his own small table in a corner. I was amazed at how completely different he looks with a wig!

Best Uses:
Halloween
Describe Yourself:
High-End Shopper
Bottom Line:

Comments about Spazm:

I saw "Spaz" and had to have 'em. I like that he's motion activated. That makes him a real treat. I kept him in the house the whole month of October and during that time I'd hide him behind big pieces of furniture before everyone went to bed. Let's just say I'd love hearing the screams in the middle of the night while my family roamed the kitchen for their midnight snack. =)

The only thing is that since he's small and compact I couldn't find a spot for him in the mist of all my other halloween props outside the night of Halloween that would give him the attention he deserves and provide the scares he's capable of. Maybe this year I will...
