The light bulbs are too bright. From the street, the sign looks like a series of blue and orange lights without being able to read the sign.
We had to add a layer of white behind the bulbs to help diffuse the light to make the sign readable.

I have been wanting this sign for a long time. I have a Hitchcock corner in my basement, it fits perfect. Psycho is one of my favorite films. I will display the sign on Halloween night.

This sign is very cheaply made and does not light up as well as shown in the picture. I plugged it in and hung it in my front window as a Halloween decoration, but when I was outside in front of my house to see how it looked, you cannot see that the sign says "Bates Motel"...you just see 4 brightly lit bulbs and cannot make out what the sign really says.

I have to agree with previous posters...YOU CANNOT READ THE SIGN from more than a few FEET away!

Imagine my disappointment upon lighting this up, and getting it in my window...to realize it's absolutely worthless as a decoration!

Looks nothing like the sign, even inside, and a foot away! The bulbs are clearly visable, although the red flickering WOULD be a nice effect if it worked properly.

I just got mine and love it! Yes it is made out of plastic however the plastic is very durable and the item is well put together. It has a very strong frame and nice hard backing. Lights can be replaced which is a plus! Must be plugged in does not run on batteries. While it says for indoor use only if it is in a covered area it should be alright. However this product will not stand up to weather or wind so be warned follow the directions for the most part. It looks great and would be a wonderful addition to a home theater room, college dorm, collection, themed parties, haunted house and so much more. Remember you are not buying a real neon sign however this is a great stand in at a wonderful price!

I've been looking for this sign for years. It's exactly what I expected. Looks great, and the bulbs are replaceable for years of fun. I have it in my bathroom window, with a shower curtain that has a shadow outline of Norman Bates.

I loved the idea of the sign and tried it out immediately. Unfortunately unless you are within a foot or two of the sign all you see are the light bulbs...you can't make out what the sign says. Also I knocked it against a table and the plastic just shattered. It was a waste of money and I would not recommend it to anyone.

This sign is poorly made. The points of light are so bright that you cannot read the "bates motel" from a sidewalk 5 feet away from a first story window! The sign looks like dots of light and blue blur. Complete waste of money. Looks NOTHING like what is shown.
