Nowadays, we appreciate and enjoy the three F's of Thanksgiving: family, food, and football. However, we have the Pilgrims and Native Americans to thank for making this holiday an annual tradition. The first Thanksgiving was held in 1621 as a celebration of the Pilgrims' first harvest in the New World, but Thanksgiving actually didn't become an annual tradition until President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed that the United States would have a national Thanksgiving Day in 1863. This was, of course, during the Civil War. In 1941, a federal law fixed the holiday at the fourth Thursday of November of each year.

Many traditions lie in one of the three F's of Thanksgiving: the food. Turkey is usually the central part of Thanksgiving dinner, and other common foods include stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce, seasonal vegetables, and of course, pumpkin pie for dessert. A popular tradition involves a family taking turns around the table to say what they are most thankful for. After a prayer is said, it is finally time to feast.

So show your gratitude and get one of these lovely women's Thanksgiving costumes today!
