This truly is a great prop. The only thing that I would ever have to say is that this thing is so poorly cheaply made!!! His body is a weak block of black plastic and his arms are foam with stuffed black gloves. The most fragile part definitely is the head. That's where most of his animation is!!
This item is completely sold out so I guess that I'm lucky to have one!!! Still is a great prop though!!!

Dr. Shivers is fun-scary. After we bought him, we expanded the lab section of our home haunt because he's so cool. Kids love him. Ours works great, but even if he should break someday, he is a bargain as only a static prop in my opinion.

Like all Gemmy life size props, the Dr needs to be treated with care. Be sure to store him in a temperate, dry location, repacked carefully and do NOT drop him (or any of the Gemmys). The mechanisms are plastic/nylon but are lubed well and he can last for years. Our is out for about a month each year and he still works. One day he won't, but he'll still be a great looking prop.

We have 7 of these life size Gemmy's and most still work perfectly, but a couple are problematic. Be happy with the prop and consider the movement a bonus compared to other props out there.

It's cool Dr.Shivers but it is poorly made also, the mouth does not make a clicking sound but however, the eyes do not move, and the microphone does not work.

The doctor is awesome for as long as he lasts. After several days of moderate use in our 2008 haunt, a gear in the mouth wore out and started making a terrible clicking noise. I had to perform major surgery to discover the problem and remove the gear. I haven't found a replacement. Looking online, you can find videos of doctors with clicking mouths, unmoving mouths, or covered mouths--all the same problem. I love the doctor, but can't recommend him because he doesn't last.

As usual from Gemmy, a great product. The pre-recorded sound can be easily replaced by using the built-in adaptor to a CD player or speak your own dialog with the microphone hook-up. Doc is full size and you can re-dress him to represent other haunt characters. Unfortunately he doesn't have actual hands, just stuffed rubber lab gloves. I had to fabricate replacement hands when changing his character. But Doc is very rugged and I've used him heavily for two haunts without problems.
