Anybody can be a hero. A young man named Steve Rogers wanted to fight for his country in World War II, but he was too weak and frail to pass the necessary tests to join the armed forces. Rogers agreed to participate in a government experiment that used a serum to transform him into a super soldier that later became known as Captain America. He has fought many enemies for our country in his life as a superhero and now he faces his greatest challenge in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. If you think you have what it takes to become this patriotic superhero, then check out our great collection of Captain American costumes and accessories. Captain America is a true American hero because he put his life on the line just to have the opportunity to fight for his country. By agreeing to participate in the United States government's experiment, Rogers proved to everyone that he would go to any length to defend his freedom, as well as the freedom of his fellow Americans. Once the serum worked, Rogers possessed great powers and abilities. These abilities include superhuman strength and speed, expert acrobatic skills and marksmanship, a mastery of hand-to-hand combat and shield fighting, and excellent leadership qualities. Of course, he was also given a vibranium-steel alloy shield that had hyperkinetic senses so he could control it while it was in flight. The shield always manages to end up back in his hands.
