Bill was a great guy, the first time I met him I was working in the local video store and he came up to the counter with NOLD box and he of couse is on the cover and asked do you know who this is… then introduced himself, we would chat everytime he came into the store about horror films and then later found out I went to school with his niece whom I concider a good friend and also now serve on the board of director for a local school with Bill’s brother Dave. He and his fanily are good people and always seem to go the extra mile.

I was hooked on Dark Shadows as a kid. I’ve seen a few episodes as an adult and can’t believe how corny it seems. I have very fond memories and can’t wait to see this adaptation with Johnny Depp.

Hi! I must agree about romances in general, but the writing in this takes some of the sting out of it. His way with prose got my attention. I think it is nice to have the Establishment coming around to horror (although by twisted means) in a way that might mean new light on our favorite subjects. While I may not be willing to condone sparkling vampires, I will go see this movie based on the tone of the book.

I mean, seriously- do y’all not like Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter either?

My idea about this might be biased, as I’ve met the author and he seemed like a nice guy. Also, two words: John Malkovich. That alone should cause you to give it a chance.

You know I’ve already read a “romance with zombies” book. It was called Breathers and true it is more of a black comedy, but I found it to be an enjoyable read. Plus it doesn’t dive into maudlin, angsty teenager territory. I recommend that book if anyone wants a little romance and comedy with their brains.

There is nothing remotely romantic or sexy about a zombie. At least vampire lore includes them being irresistible and alluring and that is how they lure victims but zombies? The wife and I did NOT like this movie at all…. I personally think the problem with this movie was that they showed almost every single scary part in the movie, in the commercials! It left nothing up for surprise… that being said, it seems that scary movies these days all have the same feel to them. You always have something jump out at you with a loud noise/scream and that’s it. I think that when the dog barked at you was the scariest part of that whole movie, and that’s not a spoiler at all…

Oh and the ending??? Holy crap what a lame ass choice for endings…

I liked this movie, sorry 3-d is not a big selling point for me. Things I didn’t like about the movie

1. It looked like it was going to be an ACTUAL movie, but it was shot documentary style, ie. paranormal activity, blair witch project, clover field, etc.

2. The ending. It left you with a lame ass blog website to check out for more information on the movie.

Other than that it was pretty good, it had it’s moments, and I can say I was scared during the exorsism parts of the moive. I would recommend it, but honestly when you compare ANYTHING to the EXORSIST… well nothing comes in comparision to that movie.

@Landstalker I don’t know, the original Evil Dead certainly has a quirky sense to it’s horror. I’d go as far as saying the first had elements of dark comedy on purpose. It’s that slight quirk/humor that really led to it going over the top in the sequel.

hey!! this show is great I was really young when they broadcasted this show here (I´m from Guatemala my english is not that good so sorry if I mess up my writing) so anyway I´m downloading the show with the 7 seasons and it´s taking a lot of time but it´s worth every second i´ve waited, so the second episode is this one when I saw it as a kid I gotta say I almost crapped my pants hahaha and believe me it barely was different this time hahaha IT SCARED THE HELL OUTTA ME!!
anyway I wanted to answer to you because I think you’re very very right when you said “it was one of the most awesome shows”.
so i’ll keep an extra clown nose around, just in case hahaha

Speaking of Werewolves for Halloween;

Why is it that we often judge a book by its cover? lol, fiction writing is an amazing topic, and so I just wanted to add my lil incident from this week at work.

So this co-worker comes up to me and asks if I want to read her mom’s new book that was just released in Aug. I give her a blank look, and am silently thinking in my head. Okay, if the book sucks, I’ll be forced to say nice things about it for the duration of both our employment here. I’m still hesitant about it, and then she says it’s free. I’ll give you a free copy, and you can be like one of those reviewers, and just tell me honestly what you think.

I’m still hesitant, because now I have the responsibility of actually reading it. Ugh! so I finally agree and she gives me the book; and all I can say, is OMG! Never judge a book by its cover. This was an amazing book, and the author weaved this lil lycan world, that the reader just had to be a part of.

It’s a paranormal romance, yea I know peoples qualms about Twilight, but I swear its nothing like that. She took ancient myths of Sekhmet, Isis, and some lycan King named Mulkie ( never heard of him so I assumed she made him up) but its kewl cuz she worked all of that into the story. The main character is a descendant of Isis, and the main wolf is a 475 year old monk. You guys should really check it out. I swear I loved it, and now I can look her in the face and say it was awesome hahaha!

Reading this made me laugh a little. I just now hit the age people frown upon when you go trick or treating and I’ll be at it this year too, but if parents are truly worried about it, why not just go buy some candy and when your kid comes home be like I’ll be right back I’m going to check your candy. And switch it out then. That way the kid still has the fun of roaming the streets and you know no candy will harm him.

I’ve Heard These Stories All Of My Life And ( I’m 48yrs. old )And Even More Urban Legends About Bad Halloween Candy. Most People Don’t Do These Things; Just A Small Number Of Wackos Do Something To Candy. While People May Want To Laugh It Off, It’s Always Best To Be Safe Than Stupid. You Wouldn’t Laugh It Off If ( God Forbid ) It Happens To Someone You Love. But For The Most Part Halloween Candy Is Safe To Eat. A Lot Of Hospitals Still Have Free x-raying Your Candy. But As For Waiting For The X-ray…Let’s Just Say You Better Bring A Book To Read. Have A Happy And Safe Time Folks!!!!

I’ve been through there. The whole place is pitch black so you can’t even see your hand in front of your face. I don’t know when you were there but when I was there most of the spookiness came from the live actors who taunt you, scream, talk in creepy voices, etc. And sometimes they’ll do something crazy like grab your legs or something. The car that comes at you comes through a wall and has dead people in it to add to the fear factor.

I loved the story about how an ebay seller claims Nicholas Cage is a vampire. That was good. I liked the aricle I’m gonna have to go buy a zombie proof safe house too. Maybe thats what 2012 will bring!
