Rumors Claim Bill Murray Shreds Ghostbusters 3 Script

According to the National Enquirer, Bill Murray shredded the latest revision of the Ghostbusters 3 script. Murray then mailed the shredded script confetti to former co-stars and co-writers Harold Ramis and Dan Ackroyd. An attached note from Murray read, No-one wants to pay money to see fat, old men chasing ghosts.

This new script was written by the minds behind the US version of The Office. Various news sources claim the script would tell the tale of the original Ghostbusters handing the business over to a younger generation, thus continuing the series with a new cast of ghost-hunting heroes.

Sony Pictures has already stated that they would feel uncomfortable creating Ghostbusters 3 without Bill Murray. In addition, Sigourney Weaver, one of the original cast members of the previous films, insists she will only join the cast of Ghostbusters 3 if Murray joins, too. Since Murray was originally given the privilege of final approval for the Ghostbusters 3 script, his denial of the script foreshadows the potential death of this sequel.

However, Dan Ackroyd claims the film will be made with or without Bill Murray, whose character Peter Venkman has been hailed as the backbone of the original Ghostbusters films. Sadly, we may never again see Murray don his Ghostbusters costume.

I would absolutely love to see another Ghostbusters!!! Who cares if they are older and a little bit more wrinkly, it just wouldn’t be the same without all of them.

  2. Sara Hardy

I will NOT see this without Murray. He really was a core member, it would be different if Ernie Hudson were missing in action, but not Murray. If Aykroyd feels it will go on without one of their critical cast mates, well, it’s his misperception of how the public views the movies history. It won’t be the same, and it won’t have the same impact. I won’t support it, but I can’t say I won’t view it once it comes out and is on cable. Maybe Murray will change his mind, we’re all entitled to change our minds, let’s hope!
